i knew nothing about the brand and originally preferred to stick with the tried and true brands like logitech g series, razer, corsair, and das, but i'm so glad i took the leap of faith on this. any compact keyboards don't have 10 key which i need. the thing is, a lot of mechanical keyboards are made for gamers, so they're quite large, have extra customizable keys and unnecessary lighting effects, and have to be wired (cough. i love mechanical keyboards because my job requires me to type a lot over 10-12 hour shifts, and they relieve hand/finger/wrist fatigue. A 96% layout (100-key) white LED backlight wireless mechanical keyboard with a number pad in a compact design that’s built for productivity and a tactile typing experience. Uncertainties: Not sure how ergonomics will play out after several months - I'd say the keyboard profile is too low to use most wrist pads, but unlike most keyboards, it also doesn't force your wrists into a bent position at the outset. My only qualm would be the default the lock key over the "-" on the numpad that I've accidentally hit twice so far, but it's fully programmable so that's kind of a non-issue. I expect it to wear to the typical, shiny finish, rather than having chunks of soft-touch coating scrape off). Also compared with the K-series keyboards, this thing looks like a work of art, and the weight feet layout make it feel like a solid piece of your desk.īefore buying it, I did have concerns about the matte coating and how it would wear over time, but now I am fairly certain that wont be an issue - it doesn't feel like a coating layer but rather just the nature of the plastic (i.e. My WPM is unchanged (thank god) and I honestly feel like it might increase over time just due to the ease of gliding across the keys and minimal key travel. I get a sense of joy when I use this keyboard, which is weird as hell but hey, I'll take it. I've only had the keyboard for a short time so I haven't gotten a chance to test out the battery life, but Logitech claims 10 days with the backlight on, and 5 months with it off.Īfter using the K520/K800 for 7 years, I was really reluctant about moving to a laptop-like key feel/behavior, but after a week it becomes so buttery smooth. I never thought I would spend $100 on a keyboard, but this one is well worth it. The keyboard also has a USB C port (cable is included) which makes charging a breeze.įINAL THOUGHTS: Get it. This implementation alone makes this keyboard worth its price. You can move the mouse, or even just hover your hands above the keyboard, and the backlight will be on before you can even start typing. The light turns off after about 5 seconds of inactivity, but you don't have to start typing again for the light to come on. The backlight is a nice color, there's a variety of brightness options to choose from, and light bleed is kept to a minimum. WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS FOR MAC KEYBOARD PC
It's easy to switch between a Mac and PC since the keys have both OS X and Windows labels on them.įEATURES: I absolutely LOVE the backlighting. There's 3 dedicated buttons to switch between devices. It has a really nice heft to it and feels very premium.ĬONNECTIVITY: It's a logitech product, so it connects easily, and stays connected.
When I first picked it up I was surprised how heavy it was (it weighs almost 2 pounds). No complaints here, even for writing long documents.īUILD QUALITY: Again, great. The keys all have a very consistent feel and are very quiet, making it great for office/night use. Not as good as a traditional mechanical keyboard, but light years better than any laptop.
